A possible case of Covid-19 at a facility in Christchurch is under investigation, says the Health Ministry.

The ministry did not confirm whether the person tested positive. They are in solitary confinement, but it is unclear if this has always been the case.

“We have cases under investigation and, as such, these are not included in any number update at this stage,” a Health Ministry spokesman told 1 NEWS.

Christchurch has had 164 coronavirus cases since the pandemic started with 12 deaths, 10 of them at Rosewood Rest Home.

“We remain under Alert Level 2 as a country and people should continue to practice good hand hygiene, physical distancing and use of face coverings in public transport, as we all do our bit to break the chain of transmission,” the spokesman said.
