Three people were arrested after methamphetamine was found in a Christchurch home after police tracked down a fleeing driver.
Police directed a vehicle to stop after a person in the car was seen “acting suspiciously” on Johns Rd, Belfast, around 8:50 pm Tuesday, a police spokeswoman said.
A manhunt began but was abandoned almost immediately.
Soon after, police tracked the vehicle to property in Belfast, where an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine was found and three people were arrested.

A 52-year-old man was charged with obstructing the police and assault, a 26-year-old man was charged with resisting the police and supplying / trafficking methamphetamine, and a 29-year-old woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine to supply, possess an offensive weapon and resistance to the police.
All three were due to appear in Christchurch District Court on Wednesday.
