Police are looking for the person who rammed their vehicle

A search began for a driver of a vehicle who, according to the police, rammed into a police vehicle, attempted to ram another and attempted to evade the police.

At approximately 10.25 a.m. Today’s M. A person driving a silver Ford Ranger pickup on Daniel Street in the Kaingaroa Forest deliberately rammed a fixed police vehicle with a mobile safe speed camera, police told the Rotorua Daily Post.

The officer of the speed camera vehicle was not injured and called for help immediately.

Meanwhile, police said the ute traveled to Murupara, where a police patrol tried to stop the vehicle.

Police said the ute stopped and then appeared to deliberately attempt to ram the patrol vehicle before leaving.

A chase began but was abandoned less than a minute later due to her driving.

Police said the ute tried to ram the same patrol vehicle again as it drove away.

The Eagle helicopter deployed from Auckland to assist and located the empty vehicle on a property in the Kaingaroa forest just before 12:30 p.m.

Police continue to investigate to identify and locate the person involved.
