New Zealand emergency services have had a productive day after working together to resolve a case involving some ducks in conflict.
Police, fire and emergency services joined forces on Saturday to rescue ducklings who crawled down a busy highway in Auckland and were trapped in a drain.
in a Send on social media, police said: “Our officers received a call shortly after 10 am that a mother duck and her ducklings had entered the South Western Highway near Mount Roskill.
“Nest minute, they had fallen into a very deep drain.”

“Help came early and the firefighters and police made a good squawk trying to catch up with them and get them out safely.
“They were taken to a nearby pond and reunited with their mother, and they are doing it like a charm.”
