Aucklanders will have to scan a QR code to enter council buildings under Covid-19 Alert Level 2.
The contactless registration process would launch next week when the Auckland Council facilities reopened.
Auckland Council Executive Chairman Stephen Town announced the new procedure on Thursday.
He said staff members would be available to register people who did not have a device capable of completing the form online.

Town said there would be limits on the number of people allowed in council buildings.
The council’s community facilities would be reopened in stages to ensure they met the introduced health and safety requirements necessary to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Mayor Phil Goff urged the Aucklanders to follow hygiene guidelines and pinpoint contacts while using council facilities.
“The last thing we want is another outbreak,” he said.
Thirty-one of the region’s 55 public libraries would open their doors on Wednesday, May 20.
The next day, most council-operated gyms would open to members.
Aucklanders will also be able to access many community centers from next week, however, no more than 10 people will be able to attend the events that take place in the places.
However, public pools operated by the Auckland Council will remain closed indefinitely as water restrictions come into effect amid one of the worst droughts ever seen in the region.
Water levels were kept low at dams that supply water to the region, and mandatory water restrictions would be in effect as of Saturday.
Town said the decision to keep the pools closed would likely disappoint residents interested in returning to the water after closing, but it was important for the council to lead by example when it came to saving water.
The council had yet to confirm how long the closings would last.
However, the private pools that had been associated with the council would soon reopen.
