Police will reveal new details in case of missing Tauranga man Julian Varley

The disappearance of Julian Varley, Tauranga’s father of two, has taken a sinister turn when police reveal bullet holes were found in his burned-out car.

The case appeared on Police Ten 7 on Thursday night, as police try to find out what happened to Varley, who has been missing from the Tauranga area since January 23.

Varley’s last confirmed sighting was around 3 p.m. that day, when he was caught on CCTV driving his 1998 blue and silver Nissan Pulsar at the Poike roundabout on State Highway 29A, Tauranga.

At around 1 am on January 24, a passerby found Varley’s car on fire on Oropi Rd, near State Highway 36. The fire totally destroyed the car.

Police revealed tonight that bullet holes were found in the car.

Varley had not accessed his bank account or used his cell phone since the day
He was last seen and has had no contact with his family, including his two
young children or friends.

In addition to having two children, her partner is pregnant with her third child.
