The 60-year-old man appeared via audio-visual link at Auckland High Court on Wednesday, where Judge Sally Fitzgerald continued with the removal of his name, at least until his next appearance.

Her attorney Kelly-Ann Stoikoff said her client had been in the hospital but is now away. She said she was not yet ready to file a statement.

She said she was not seeking bail from her client.
