New Zealand “beats virus again,” says PM Jacinda Arden

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced on Monday that the weekend would join the rest of New Zealand this week after the city was considered under control following the outbreak.

Driving News: The second Covid-19 outbreak, which began in August in New Zealand’s most populous city, has risen to 179 cases, Arrdan said in a briefing. “Only five people from this cluster are healthy,” Arrd said.

Big picture: 102 days went by with no reported cases in the community before COVID-19 re-emerged in New Zealand, which went into lockout that was less severe than before earlier this year. Fewer restrictions were reintroduced elsewhere in the NZ.

What he says: Ardern noted that Auckland is heading for a lockdown again after the virus re-emerged, when it found the whole country under the world’s toughest coronavirus ban, “feeling more difficult” than the previous one.

  • “But despite that, the land calendars and the people of New Zealand got stuck in the scheme which has now worked twice and defeated the virus again,” Arrd added.

Note: Ardern cited figures shared with Axios last Friday, which was shown by the government-advised research center Pannahamatini, which shows there is a 95% chance that Kovid-19 has been eradicated from the community.

  • As a result, Wednesday calendar restrictions will increase this Wednesday at 11:59 p.m., local time. However, Ardern urged New Zealanders to be aware of the dangers of the virus and vowed to continue testing rates.

What they did: Shawn Handy, director of Panaha Mtini, said in an interview with Xxios that the cluster land was contained in the calendar because of the city’s short, sharp lockdown and rigid coronavirus testing rate.

  • Ensuring workers at air borders such as Land Cland Airport are routinely tested i.e. “we will catch [cases] Get them out as soon as possible and stop the big outbreaks, ”Handy said.

What’s next: It is Panha Matatini who has created a compartment model that can be used to avoid a more comprehensive laydown for any more targeted interventions if there is to be a future outbreak.

  • This computer modeling can predict the suburbs where the virus spreads.
  • “We will be able to look at specific industries or workplaces and take targeted steps that enable them to be implemented and have little impact on people’s lives,” Handy said. Handy said. “It’s probably a lesser model that will run in response to an outbreak and so much more so that we can use it in planning the next outbreak.”
