Palm springs, Andy Samberg’s new comedy, probably would have gone to theaters if the world wasn’t … you know … right now. But with theaters still closed, the movie landed right on Hulu, and it’s kind of a perfect movie to stream from home – short, fun, and about being trapped in the same place incessantly. I also saw the movie last weekend and really enjoyed it. The film takes the premise of Groundhog day and renews it to slightly more ridiculous and modern results. What it does Palm springs Working so well is as much a twist to the formula (several people united on the circuit) as the movie’s confidence that the audience needs little explanation of what’s going on. The premise is quickly established, and then the movie turns to the fun part.
