The Batman director Matt Reeves has so far only been able to record about 25 percent of the film due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he could not appear until his recent DC Fandome panel without bringing some of these scenes with him. Reeves shared an entire two-minute, 30-second trailer for his DC Extended Universe reboot starring Robert Pattinson. Immediately, fans began to break down frame by frame, and they had already unleashed one big rumor.
Matt Reeves says ‘The Batman’ is an ‘experiment’
According to Polygon, the new Batman movie really lies in its comic title “World’s Greatest Detective.” Reeves has made it clear that this is not a Batman origin story, but it takes place in the early days of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego.
He is still trying to figure out what it means to be Batman, and he soon realizes that what he is doing does not have the desired effect.
“This is all an experiment in the film. The idea is that we’re in year two – it’s the Gotham experiment. It’s a criminological experiment, he’s trying to figure out what he can do to finally change this place, so in our story he’s in that mode. ”

In the trailer, it appears that Gordon has brought Batman in for a consultation on a crime. It is not uncommon for fans to see the superhero involved in police proceedings instead of taking out his enemies vigilante style.
‘The Batman’ has a star-studded cast
Production for The Batman is slowly reopening to its COVID-related hiatus. The videos that Reeves’ shared gave fans their first look at what the director has in store for the highly anticipated reboot.
The trailer opens with a masked man channel that covers another man’s face so much that he cannot breathe. This seems to be the introduction of Paul Dano’s Riddler. Reeves promised that Dano’s adoption of the iconic Batman villain is something fans have never seen before.

The movies were also shown Westworld star Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman, and an unrecognizable Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Of course, Pattinson was front and center as the latest movie version of Batman, which some fans have described as “emo.”
In addition to the star-studded cast, the trailer also included many details that fans had already begun to pore. They have already managed to dispel one big rumor about the upcoming film.
Fans have noticed that the setting does not live up to expectations
According to IGN, a report appeared last year claiming that The Batman would have been instituted in the 1990s. Rumors that the movie was a period piece then sparked speculation that Batinson’s Batman would one day meet Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker in a future movie. As fans remember, Joker was introduced in the early eighties.
However, the setting for the new trailer did not match the expectations of fans. It also shattered fan-dreams for a future Pattinson-Phoenix crossover. The only notable thing from the 1990s in the teaser was the music playing in the background – Nirvana’s Something in the way.

Reeve’s film seems to be in the modern day. The teaser trailer features modern tech, including smartphones and LCD monitors that were obviously not available in the 1990s. One scene also features a new model from Lincoln Navigator.
For fans hoping for a Batman from the 1990s, it seems like they should settle for the movies that were actually released in that decade.
The Batman stands in theaters on October 1, 2021.
