New Jersey police break house party with 300 guests, arrested host

Police brought a house party in New Jersey that violated state health at indoor meetings, authorities said Sunday. The host of the event was arrested.

About 300 people were at the “pop-up party” on Wilson Drive in the Ramtown neighborhood of Howell Township, which is located about 65 miles northeast of Philadelphia, city police said.

The bash-out-of-control was so large that township authorities needed the help of police officers from five neighboring towns, the Office of Sheriff’s Office and New Jersey State Police.

“Most of those present were satisfied,” Howell police said in a statement. “Others doubt and direct their anger at the host who has access to accounts.”

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey last week raised the number of people allowed to collect 25 percent of capacity, with a maximum of 25 people – down from the previous standard of up to 100 people. This followed reports from major parties in New Jersey.

Murphy said the parties were concerned because the coronavirus continues to spread throughout the country, and with the onset of infection somewhat increasing in the state. However, the governor said Friday that the state’s COVID-19 trends were now heading in the right direction.

The host of the Howell Township party was not immediately identified.

Even after the party broke up, police said they had officers patrolling the neighborhood, to make sure the party did not hear back.

“Several patrol units will remain in the area to prevent others from arriving and / or returning and to monitor surrounding streets, as there have been reports of fighters urinating on people’s property and cars. , “said the police statement. “A majority of the participants are not local.”

It is unclear if anyone else was arrested.
