New folder from Apex Legends leaks

A new one Apex Legends map is apparently leaking online, suggesting that Season 6 may have a big surprise for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Much of the content that comes after EA and Respawn’s free-to-play battle royale game is revealed ahead of schedule, courtesy of data mining leaks. And the latest leak of data mining points to a brand new map coming to the game, soon called “Tropic Island”, which could be a placeholder. After all, Tropic Island is pretty generic, especially compared to the game’s previous two maps, King’s Canyon and World’s Edge.

At the time of publication, zero capacity of the card is leaking online, which means that we are only code that references the card within the files of the game. And it looks like this code was added with the latest update of season 6 of the game. This may mean that it’s coming soon, but it could also mean that Respawn is just beginning to test the map in their development of the game. If this is the case then maybe this could be a bit off-putting.

As for the leak itself, it’s getting prominent Apex Legends leakers Shrugtal and Biast12, both of which were recently and individually transferred from “Tropic Island” within the game’s files.

Interestingly, this is not the only “leaked” card we know of. There have been leaks on a map called “Olympus” for some time now. This may be the same card, but it probably does not. And if they are not, then Tropic Island could be very far away, because you would assume that Olympus would come first, if we knew more about them and have more leaks pointing to existence.

That said, take as always everything here with a grain of salt, the leak itself, and the speculation that has subsided. At the time of publication, there have been no Respawn or EA comments on the leak, and it is highly unlikely that both will, as is typically not one of the comments on leaks of this variety.

Apex Legends is available for free on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and coming later this year it will be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
