Through the Buffalo NewsThe Bills and the hat and apparel company agreed to end the naming rights relationship at the team’s stadium.
“Buffalo Bills and New Era Cap Company jointly announce that New Era has asked to be released from its naming rights and sponsorship agreements with the Bills,” explains a statement announcing the move. “The Bills and New Age are currently negotiating the details of this separation and the Bills are beginning the process of finding a new name rights partner for the stadium.”
According to the news, the specific date of the change has not yet been determined. The Bills are currently looking for a new name rights partner.
Signed in 2016, the seven-year agreement was reportedly worth $ 40 million. The “separation details” could include some form of payment by New Era for the ability to get out of the deal early.
