Netflix’s ‘Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj’ will not be back for season 7

“Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” will not return for a seventh season on Netflix.

The news was shared on Tuesday by the 34-year-old cabaret artist on Twitter, who took a loving farewell to his talk show.

“What a run. @Patriotact has come to an end,” he wrote. “I came to work with the best writers, producers, researchers and animators in the game. My 2 dolls were born and raised with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched.”

To complete the post, Minhaj made a joke referring to his set, which was adorned with massive television screens: “Now is the time to return these screens to Best Buy.”

The tweet included an image of the cabaret performer on the set of the show, where he often discussed the cultural and political landscape.

Netflix did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The show ran six seasons, according to IMDb. It debuted in 2018.

Minhaj recently spoke with Variety about working with Netflix.

“It could break me out of the cognitive framework of being in the late night world with multiple Jimmy’s, because I no longer speak to the North American audience, I talk to the world,” the former “Daily Show” correspondent said. ‘If I do a piece about the elections in the Philippines, or censorship in China, or Indian elections, or Saudi Arabia – there are more people outside the continental United States who know about that game, then there are people here in the States, know about those problems. ”

In addition, he encouraged people of color to start creating content.
