Netflix cancels ‘Away’ after one season


Netflix is ​​not renewing the science fiction drama series “Away” for the second season, Diversity Confirmed. The cancellation comes just six weeks after the show’s first season aired on September 4.

“Away” stars Hillary Swank as astronaut Emma Green, leading the first crew mission to Mars aboard the spaceship “Atlas”, called the Mars Joint Initiative. Green leads an international crew with members from China, Russia, India and the UK who are all experts in the field. Tensions in the crew escalate when some members do not trust Leela’s leadership after his response to a problem at the beginning of the mission. Its first season includes 10 episodes.

In addition to Swank, the main cast members include Josh Charles, Vivian Wu, Mark Evanir, Ato Essondoh, Ray Panthaki and Talita Batman. Recurring cast members include Monique Gabriela Kurnen, Michael Patrick Thornton, Martin Cummins, Gabriel Rose, Brian Markinson, Fiona Fu, Nadia Hatta, Alessandro Juliani, Felicia Patti, Veena Sood, Anthony F.
