ALEXANDRIA, Va. – An Old Town Alexandria business owner is receiving community support after she says a client turned violent after being asked to cover her face.

The incident occurred earlier this month at Abyssinia Market and Coffee House. Owner Lily Damtew said she was ready to definitively close the business after the incident until she returned one morning to find words of encouragement from her neighbors posted on her door.
Authorities say the man was detained.
