Morning Storylines on Monday

Some small Wake County public school system students will return to school at exciting, yet anxious times for the first time in months. About 8,000 students will return for personal education.

The county school board voted with all third-grade students in East-K with K-12 special education regional programs. Grade 4 and 5 will return to school in a three-week rotation starting November 16 and will continue until the end of the semester. Nov, 7 and grad students will return to school in a three-week rotation starting Nov. and will continue until the end of the semester.

Elon University is putting limits on social gatherings after some new Covid-19 clusters in Calais, with 161 new cases reported in the last seven days. More than 380 students are in isolation or quarantine. Elon is now postponing all Greek life and personal meetings and will test 3,000 students a week.

Free COVID-19 testing will take place in Orange County and Chatham County this week. In Hillsborough, test w. Testing centers will be set up at the Whitehead Human Services Center on Trian Street from 9am to 5pm, at Bear Creek, at Chatham Central High School on Monday and at Northwood High School on Thursday. Health officials in North Carolina are filing 1,807 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 260,099.

There have been 13 more deaths in the state, bringing the total to 4,157.

With Percent Percent Hospitals, hospital admissions are down from 34 to 1,148. More than 1,100 have been admitted to the hospital on the 14th day, although the metric dropped from above 1,200 earlier this week.

Currently, 545 ICU beds and 5,548 inpatient hospital beds are vacant.
