In a Wednesday memo to teams, the NBA said “players’ families and longtime personal friends” were eligible as guests in the NBA bubble.

The competition will exclude business partners, casual acquaintances and “any individual that the player has not met in person before with whom the player has had limited interactions in person (for example, known by the player only via social media as an intermediary) . ”

Each team gets a maximum of 17 guest rooms. Players can not host more than four guests, although some exceptions have been made for those with small children.

Teams advancing to the playoffs must appoint a “Player Guest Liaison” from their existing staff to act as a point of contact between the team and the NBA.

A “Quarantine Coordinator” should also be assigned in the team market to ensure guests have met the health protocol requirements, including a seven-day self-quarantine at home.

Player guests can arrive on campus as early as August 24th and must complete a Sunday room quarantine upon arrival.
