UPDATE: The NBA 2K21 release date for Monday, August 24th on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch has been confirmed for 7am PT in the United States.
For gamers in the UK, that means the new NBA Demo will be released at 3pm BST on the various digital storefronts.
ORIGINAL: The good news is that the NBA 2K21 demo release date has been confirmed for this week for all current gen consoles.
This will give gamers their first taste of the new NBA 2K experience, though it will come with disadvantages.
For one, it will only offer some of the gameplay options that are available in the full game, the other is that it will only include the current gen version of the game.
That there’s a chance of a second NBA 2K21 Demo coming live later this year for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
For now, we only know about when the NBA 2K21 demo will release on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
WHEN WILL THE NBA 2K21 DEMO COME OUT?
The NBA 2K21 Demo release date is set for Monday, August 24, 2020, on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The official launch time NBA 2K21 has now been announced and includes a worldwide schedule across all platforms.
The development team behind the game has confirmed that the NBA 2K21 release time is set for 3pm BST, like 7am PT, if you live in the United States.
It seems likely that the demo will go live on the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop and Xbox Store at the same time, but it will also be worth checking out the various digital storefronts to be sure.
From what has been shared so far, gamers will not have to pre-order the entire game to gain access to this new demo.
A 2K post explains: ‘You’ll have a chance to check out how the game plays for yourself as we release the November 24 NBA 2K21 demo for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch!
“Last year, we introduced signature dribble styles, which gave Magic Johnson its unique revamped waddle, Steve Nash’s fingerlick, and much more.
“This upgrade has now made its way to the defensive end with signature defensive movement styles. Here is the list of players where you can model your player’s move to: Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Pat Beverley, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green.
“In addition to this, movement has undergone several improvements, both with the ball and without, to provide a more consistent and responsive feel to the sticks.”
It should be noted that the NBA 2K20 demo went live at 8am, PST in 2019 across all platforms.
2K has confirmed the list of activities still available in the new NBA 2K20 demo, or if there will be early access to the MyCAREER Mode.
Last year’s demo made it possible, so any progress made while playing the NBA 2K20 Demo would transition to the full version when it launches in September.
Some years ago, 2K released their latest NBA game called “Prelude” because it also provided a first look at the mode of the career story.
This year’s demo does not have the title, which means we probably won’t get the same look to the narratives that are being worked on.
2K has been busy chatting about the new MyTEAM experience that will come with the full game, revealed earlier this month:
“For those of you who are starting your NBA 2K21 MyTEAM experience with the launch of PS4 / Xbox One on September 4th, I am excited to confirm that your entire collection AND progress will be transferred as you begin the next generation version of the game.
“This means you have access to all your drawn and earned cards (and any evolutionary progress associated with them), your progress in Domination, Triple Threat, etc., and your full balance of VC, MyTEAM Points, and tokens.
“The only advocate is that this only works on matching generations on the same account. Specifically, PS4 works up to PS5. Xbox One to Xbox Series X works. PS5 to PS4 and Xbox Series X to Xbox One also work. PS4 to Xbox Series X and Xbox One to PS5 do not work. Having the game on PS4 or Xbox One on one account and using another account for PS5 or Xbox Series X does not work either. Pretty straightforward. ”
