Navalny’s condition improved for discharge: German hospital

BERLIN – Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who was treated for poisoning at a German hospital on Wednesday, said his condition had improved to get rid of it, and suggested a “full recovery” of the nerve agent was possible.

Navalny, 44, spent 32 days in treatment at Berlin’s Charity Hospital, 24 of whom were in intensive care, before doctors believed he had “improved his condition to be discharged from critical inpatient care.”

The hospital said that based on Navalny’s progress, physicians believe “a full recovery is possible,” but added that it was “too early to calculate the potential long-term effects of her severe poisoning.”

Navalny, Russia’s most outspoken opponent of President Vladimir Putin, was flown to Germany on August 20, two days after falling ill on a domestic flight to Russia.

German chemical weapons experts have determined that he was poisoned with Soviet-era nerve agent Novich Okk – findings banned by labs in France and Sweden.

Throughout her physique, Navalny has posted regular photos from the hospital on Instagram in recent days, first showing her surrounded by her family in her bed, then upstairs and in the building.

In a post with a close-up photo on Tuesday night, he denounced the remarks made by Putin, suggesting that he may have poisoned himself.

“Good theory, I believe it deserves a lot of attention,” Navalny wrote in Russian.

“Novichok cooked in the kitchen. Kneeling from the flask in the plane. Fell into a coma. ”

He said sarcastically that the “ultimate purpose of my cunning plan” was to die in Siberia, where the cause of death was “to live longer.”

“But Putin pushed me forward. You can’t fool him, “Navalny wrote. “As a result, I’ve been in a coma for 18 days like a fool, but I haven’t found my way. Provocation failed! ”

The nerve agent used in the attack was the same class of Soviet-era agents that Britain said was used on Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury, England in 2018, and Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders called for Russia. To investigate thoroughly.

Navalny was kept in an induced coma for more than two weeks as she was treated with antidote. His team members accused the Kremlin of being involved in the poisoning, a claim denied by Russian officials.

Russia has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning Russia’s intelligence have been made more than once.

Germany noted that the novel was in Russian treatment for 48 hours, and Russia has its own data.

Germany has also registered a Hague-based organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons for technical assistance in the case.
