NASCAR All-Star Race Odds, Predictions: 2 betting picks for Wednesday (July 15) Night’s Race in Bristol

The NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race is generally held at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, but was delayed until tonight (8:30 pm ET, FS1) and moved to Bristol Motor Speedway due to the COVID-19 pandemic. .

The race will be just 140 total laps with stage breaks on laps 55, 90 and 125. Caution laps will count, except between stages and in the final stage.

Eligible drivers include race winners for the 2019-20 seasons, previous All-Star Race champions, three-stage winners of the All-Star Open, which will run immediately before the main event, and a fan vote winner. .

This year’s field will eventually total 20 drivers running for the $ 1 million first prize.

In determining my All-Star Race bets, I relied heavily on the results of the Series Cup race at Bristol in May, especially considering that the event was held with the new short track package from More power and less downforce and the same tire combination kits. I’ll use it tonight.

Kyle Busch (+700)

I understand that Busch has yet to visit Victory Lane this season, but I am still amazed to see three drivers with the best odds of winning the All-Star Race.

Kyle has eight career wins at Thunder Valley, including three wins and five top-five finishes in his last six races.

In May, Busch finished with the second best driver rating while running the fastest laps. I think Busch should be the race favorite, so 7-1 is a great value for me to endorse No. 18 driver Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Jimmie Johnson (+2400)

At 24-1, Johnson is tied with Alex Bowman with only the 10th best chance of winning the All-Star Race, and remember, there are only a total of 16 drivers currently listed by bettors.

In May at Bristol Jimmie finished third and had the third best driver rating. I’m not excited for Johnson to start 14th again in such a short run, but that’s part of the reason why his odds are so attractive.

With stage breaks, the option for pit and tire strategy, as well as the new cone rule that is likely to alter race order, I’m not passing a driver who was in the top five on the same track, with the same package and tire combination
