The Hubble Space Telescope has been a science gamble since its inception in 1990, but it has also been given an eye-opening window into the universe (as well as an open mind and heart).
NASA is still busy celebrating the longevity of the telescope, and Catfetti’s latest round is the addition of 30 fresh images covered by the Caldwell catalog. A catalog is a list of space objects that can be found by amateur astronomers.
The new images cover sparkling star clusters, haunted nebulae and gorgeous galaxies.
The space agency said in a statement on Friday that the images had been taken by Hubble during his career and used for scientific research or engineering tests, but that NASA had not yet fully processed the images for public release. Said in a statement on Friday.
