NASA tracking asteroid ‘bigger than London bridge’ ready to collide with Earth orbit – World News

An asteroid, probably bigger than London Bridge, will collide with Earth next week.

NASA is looking for an asteroid named 2014 QJ33, which is expected to fly-by on September 17.

The vast space stone is projected to be 48 m to 110 m, or 157 to 360 feet, wide.

Which means it’s about to be the most delusional time of the year, as well. Can be large, reaching 104 m (340 ft) of concrete in the middle.

The giant space rock is a near-ject object (NEO) meaning “comets and asteroids that have been orbited by the gravity of nearby planets that could allow them to enter Earth’s neighborhood.”

The asteroid 2014 QJ33 is expected to pass safely through the Earth at a distance of 1,592,819 miles from Earth – 6.67 lunar units.

The rock will travel at a speed of 8.66 kilometers per second or 19,371 miles per hour.

A team of NASA astronomers is currently searching for about 2,000 asteroids, comets and other objects that could fly close to Earth.

Earth has not seen an apocalyptic scale planet from the space stone that wiped out dinosaurs millions of years ago.

Most asteroids do not come into contact with the Earth’s atmosphere, but in rare instances large space rocks can affect the weather system.
