For many, Xiaomi is one of the most successful smartphone manufacturers in the world. But the company’s product portfolio doesn’t end on phones. The Chinese tech giant is also a major player in the smart home space and has been steadily increasing its portfolio worldwide. In its latest global launch of ecosystem products, the brand announced several new products for the UK and European markets. Let’s take a detailed look at all those new releases.
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick
One of the most important announcements of today’s Xiaomi event was the new Mi TV Stick. We already know a lot about the new Android TV dongle thanks to the leaks and it seems that they were right. The Mi TV Stick is a pocket streaming device that will connect to the HDMI port on your TV. It comes with Google Chromecast built-in and also supports voice commands thanks to Google Assistant. Unfortunately Xiaomi has only announced a 1080p version of the Mi TV Stick and there is still no news of a 4K variant. Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5
Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 in China last month, so we already know everything about it. What we expected confirmation is if the global version of the fitness tracker has NFC. Turns out it doesn’t. Don’t expect to make payments with Mi Band 5 any time soon. There’s also no Amazon Alexa support on board as previously rumored. Furthermore, Xiaomi has even eliminated SpO2 or blood oxygen monitoring from the international variant.
Elsewhere, all the specifications of the global Mi Band 5 variant remain the same as its Chinese counterpart. The Mi Smart Band 5 is priced at € 39.99 (~ $ 46) in Europe, with an early booking price of € 34.99 (~ $ 40). Its UK price will be announced on July 16 when it goes on sale through Xiaomi’s website in the country.
Xiaomi Mi True 2 Basic Wireless Headphones
The name of Xiaomi’s new true wireless earbuds is definitely a mouthful and they’re just a revamped version of the Mi True 2 wireless earbuds. They have the same AirPods-like design and promise 20 hours of battery life with the charging case. . Xiaomi claims that the headphones are fully charged in 1.5 hours via USB-C. Like existing Mi TWS headphones, these come with noise isolation technology and a 14.2mm dynamic driver.

You can control them with double-tap gestures. The headphones include optical sensors for in-ear detection to automatically pause audio when it comes out. The only difference between these new headphones and the Mi True 2 wireless headphones is that the latter supports the LHDC codec for high-quality audio. The basic variants only come with support for SBC and AAC codecs.
The Mi True 2 Basic wireless headphones are priced at £ 49.99 (~ $ 56.77) in the UK. They will be available on the Xiaomi UK website from July 16. The headphones are also available in Europe for € 39.99 (~ $ 46) and at an advance price of € 29.99 (~ $ 34).
Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 and Mi Electric Scooter 1S
Do you want to go full speed on a Xiaomi electric scooter? You will soon have two options to choose from. Xiaomi has announced the Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 and Scooter 1S for the UK and European markets. The two electric scooters are designed for short trips of up to 45 km at maximum speeds of 25 km / h. Xiaomi Redmi 9A and 9C
The company also announced the European launch of the Redmi 9 series, namely Redmi 9, Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A. The old device was launched in Europe last month, but the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A are new to the market.
These two phones offer input power, the same 5MP selfie camera, HD + displays, and the same 5,000mAh battery. Otherwise, the Redmi 9C comes with a 13MP triple camera setup (13MP + 2MP + 2MP) and a rear fingerprint scanner. Meanwhile, the Redmi 9A has a single 13MP rear camera and has no fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi Mi Curved Gaming Monitor
Lastly, Xiaomi announced a new 34-inch curved gaming monitor as part of its smart home launches. The monitor comes with an ultra-wide 144Hz 21: 9 screen with a 4ms response rate and 3440 x 1440 resolution. It offers a wide sRGB color gamut of 121% and promises up to 300 nits of brightness. The new Xiaomi monitor also features AMD FreeSync technology for smooth graphics and a stutter-free gaming experience.
