It’s the announcement of streaming services around the world to hear. After the coronavirus delayed its original theatrical release date and there was a lot of inhibition and debate about whether we would (or should) experience it in a theater for a moment, Disney announced that the remake of live action from Mulan will debut on Disney + September 4, 2020. But there’s a catch – it will not only be available to Disney + subscribers willy-nilly. We need to fork out an extra $ 29.99 to access the movie on 09/04. And now, thanks to a new landing page on Disney +, we know exactly what that arrangement means – and what it might mean about Mulanhis future at Disney +.
On this page, Disney is asking for the $ 30 fee for Mulan “Premier Access.” It goes without saying that “Premier Access” means that “as of September 4, with Premier Access, you can view Mulan before it is available to all Disney + subscribers. Disney + will offer Premier Access to Mulan for $ 29.99 at disneyplus.com and select platforms.Once you have Premier access to Mulan once, you can view as many times as you want on any platform where Disney + is available.Your access to Mulan will continue as long as you have an active Disney + subscribe. ”For this fee, you get the movie in HDR, UHD, and Dolby audio, and you can“ stream & download as long as you have Disney +. ”So far, this all makes sense, right?
But there’s one piece I’m sitting on that might be good news for people who sign up for Disney + but are not ready to shake out the extra $ 30. “Premier Access”, a $ 29.99 service, will get you there Mulan “Before it is available to all Disney + subscribers.” Does this mean that if we are patient enough, we can just wait a few months (or less? Or more?) Before the movie will normally hit the service like the rest of the titles? Does this chart pave the way for Disney titles on the home entertainment circuit – Disney + Premier Access, PVOD / Blu-ray, Disney + proper? If the coronavirus continues as it goes, then is this what they will do for the rest of their lease for the foreseeable future?
While these questions remain unanswered at the moment, one thing is for sure – If you want to watch Mulan ASAP, Premier Access on Disney + will be your best bet. It starts streaming on September 4th for $ 29.99. Watch the new trailer here.
