Mother of 10 says she was coughed up at Jacksonville Pier One

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Heather Sprague, a Jacksonville woman who says she is a brain tumor patient, said that while waiting for an appointment, she put on her mask and entered a Pier One Imports to escape the summer heat.

When she entered, Sprague, a mother of 10 children, said she noticed a woman who was scolding staff members at the store for an item she wanted to return but was not in possession of. Sprague noticed that two small children were wandering around the store and, according to her, they were accompanying the woman.

As she watched from a distance, Sprague wrote that she started taking a video of the client, posted below.

“Do you really need this? You want to do? Publish it for you? What about that? The woman is heard to say while making obscene gestures. “I think I will get very close to you and cough at you then, how is that?

Then the woman is seen coughing in Sprague. Then she leaves the store with her children. It is unclear if the incident was reported to police or if the unidentified woman faces charges.

Sprague said on his Facebook page:

“I did not speak, react, or compromise. She simply stood up to document the behavior. When bullies face responsibility, they must acknowledge the unacceptability of their actions. Within 30 seconds of filming his tirade ended and he left the poor staff alone. “

Sprague added that she was “out to find a COVID test.” News4Jax is working to contact her for additional information.
