More than 22,000 people across the inland Northwest are experiencing power shortages

Spoke CO No K .., Wash Wash Sh. – Lightning strikes have hit most of the Spokane area due to the ongoing blanket business in the ice city.

As of this writing, Avista Utilities reports about 19,544 people are without power. Nearly 2,000 of them near St. Mary’s are without power.

Avista says crews are working on the scene to assess the damage, but have not provided an estimated time for repairs.
