More Carbondale Companies Closed After Rising COVID-19 Infections – WSIL


CARBONDALE (WSIL) – After a significant increase in COVID-19 cases in Jackson County, two more Carbondale restaurants are temporarily closing their doors.

Tres Hombres closed early Tuesday night after receiving confirmation that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement on its Facebook page, management says the restaurant is understaffed and will be closed for at least two weeks as each staff member isolates himself.

Flame Grill & Bar says it will also be temporarily closed to proactively address COVID-19’s growing concerns in Carbondale.

In a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant says it has no employees who have tested positive, but that they are taking precautions to ensure the safety of guests and employees.

Flame Grill & Bar also says that each employee will be evaluated while the restaurant is closed.

In addition to Tres Hombres and Flame, Pinch Penny Liquors has also temporarily closed.

An employee in the business tested positive for COVID-19. Owner Greg Karayiannis said Monday that each staff member will be evaluated during the shutdown.

“This announcement is one of the most difficult things I have had to do as a business owner. Since we reopened in April, we have taken all the precautionary and safety measures recommended by CDC and our local health department, we have required the 100% of both staff and customers masking themselves in our business. We hope that these precautionary measures will keep this case as an isolated incident, but we will close to clean, disinfect and await test results from our staff, “said Karayiannis it’s a statement. Quatro’s Deep Pan Pizza closed its doors Sunday night after being notified that one of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19.
