Monster Hunter World: Iceburn Update 5 Trailer Shows New Monsters and Halloween Celebrations

The Monster Hunter World expansion, Iceburn, has received many major free updates since its inception, and the next one will feature some major additions. Update 5 is coming on October 1st, and has released a new trailer to show off the new monsters, the outfits and the events it brings to the game.

Two new monsters are being introduced for this update – Fatalis, the traditional dragon-type creator and the icy “arch-tempered” Velkhana. You will be able to unlock new armor sets from both – two from Fatalis and one from Velkhana.

Other additions include Universal Studios Japan Collaborative Quest, which is available worldwide. That’s an interesting thing, as most of the game’s collaborations have happened with other game franchises – but in a year where theme parks have been found to be more difficult than usual, it makes sense.

A new Halloween-themed event is coming to the game, also called Celiana Fest. It will bring new sets of armor and some awesome furnishings for fun. The trailer above shows other sets of gear, including an armor set that lets your hunter know they’re running around in their underwear and extreme buff.

This is the ultimate free major update, ending a long campaign of free content. The next Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Rise, is coming to switch on March 26, 2021. Check out Gamespot’s Preorder Guide.
