Moffy’s new wireless charging battery pack clips on the back of your phone

Moffy is one of the oldest names in the business when it comes to smartphone battery packs, but its latest release puts a new spin on the approach. Instead of a battery case that can only be used with a single phone, the new Juice Pack Connect uses a modular system to clip the battery pack to the back of your phone, where it can charge it wirelessly.

It’s a creative solution that solves many of the problems of both bespoke battery cases and more modern Q battery packs. Juice Pack Connect basically works with any phone that supports wireless charging, not just a single device. And the clip mechanism allows the use of Qi charging even when on the go, without resorting to solutions like fantastic suction cup arrays to keep the charger and phone together.

Also, Moffy’s system is modular, so if your clip-battery doesn’t die, you can just slide over another Moffy pack and charge. There’s also the potential for future expansion here: the company already includes a phone grip stand that can be attached to the main anchor point when you’re not charging, and it’s easy to imagine it could detach other products taking advantage of the setup. Also.

The battery pack itself comes with a 1,000 mAh battery and supports both USB-C ports and QI support, both of which can be used to either recharge the Juice Pack Connect or charge another device. However, in terms of charging speed, Moffy is not saying what kind of offer Juice Pack Connect offers.

Another big issue with Juice Pack Connect. The price is 79.95 – a hefty price to pay for a 20,000mAh USB-C battery pack these days, less than 5,000mAh.
