Mobile test site deployed in Lake Zurich after multiple cases of coronavirus were reported at the sports camp – NBC Chicago

Health officials have parked a mobile coronavirus testing site at a suburban high school after multiple cases of COVID-19 were identified among participants in a recently held sports camp in the area.

The mobile testing site, located at the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center, will be open until 5 pm on Sunday.

The COVID-19 mobile test was organized after several participants at a high school sports camp tested positive for coronavirus.

People who tested positive for the virus may also have attended various social gatherings, according to a press release.

“Time is of the essence,” Dr. Sana Ahmed of the Lake County Health Department said in a statement. “We recommend that any member of the Lake Zurich community who has been exposed, regardless of age, be tested. This will help us identify positive cases and stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community. ”

On-site tests are free and open to the public, regardless of whether or not a patient has symptoms. Photo identification and proof of insurance are not necessary, but will help speed up the testing process, according to officials.

Those using the test drives must be seated at a working window, and once people line up at the site, they will not be allowed to leave their vehicles.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Advocate Aurora will provide another mobile testing site this week, open from 10 am to 2 pm on Mondays and from 9 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays at John T. Magee Middle School in Round Lake.
