MLB’s Trevor Bauer reminds everyone that the Astros cheated

Sometimes it is difficult to remember what life was like before the coronavirus pandemic. Trevor Bauer provided a reminder.

With an insignificant pullback to a more carefree version of 2020, when the stealing of cartels was baseball’s biggest concern, the Reds pitcher attempted to re-highlight the Houston Astros scandal and his tainted 2017 title.

When the teams gathered last week for Spring Training 2.0, Bauer tweeted a photo of himself wearing a shirt that says “HOUSTON CHEATED,” “2017 CHUMPS,” and “TRASH-TOWN.”

Baseball is back for everyone! Admission tests taken, a lot of high-tech things are happening here, but there is something to help us win, right? Bauer wrote, with a not-so-subtle punch for Houston’s use of electronics to illegally steal posters when he won the World Series.

The Astros cheating scandal had taken a back seat in the battle between the owners and players union, which combined with the coronavirus led to a three-month postponement of Opening Day.

Due to the reduced regular season of 60 games, which will begin later this month, the Reds could only face the Astros in the World Series.
