The 2020 Major League Baseball season is constantly approaching and, in a way, almost seems surreal. There certainly were times when it seemed like we weren’t going to have a season due to the COVID-19 month shutdown.
However, the season will continue and you will now find CBS Sports baseball staff predictions below for the order of division finishes, postseason, and individual awards.
Yes, there were some consensus elections for the 60 game sprint, although we sent out blind picks. They all have the Yankees taking the East of the American League and we all really have exactly the same order in the division. Given the number of things that mix in the Eastern Division and the Central Division of the National League, I can safely say that we all agree that both are four-team races that will be fun. It may seem boring for everyone to choose the Dodgers to win the National League West, but it’s hard to see a scenario where they don’t win.
And we go on and on. There are some chalk picks and some “let’s go crazy” picks.
The most important message here is that everything is fun. We are going to hit a lot and we are going to lose a good number. Happens. Unpredictability for the most part is what makes baseball great.
