Miranda Lambert celebrates her first # 1 solo song in years with ‘Bluebird’

Miranda Lambert is celebrating a great achievement: her No. 1 solo spot on the Billboard charts in eight years with her single “Bluebird.”

The award-winning 36-year-old Grammy singer went to social media to share the news.

“2020 hasn’t offered much to celebrate, especially for musicians. But I’m celebrating this week,” Lambert began. “I celebrate happiness and the feeling of artistic freedom at a time when we all feel a little caged.”

I am celebrating ALL the fans, the writers, the musicians, the teams and the bands, the radio and broadcast services, places big and small. for allowing me to have the most wonderful career of the last 17 years. “

Lambert later noted that “Bluebird” has established itself in history as a number 1 song, a milestone, according to the artist, which it has not achieved in years.

“It has been 8 years since I got number 1 on the billboard list and 6 years on the media base,” he said. “I have spent my life doing what I love and I feel more blessed and humble than ever so that this song of hope resonates with all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“It turns out we had a wild card up our sleeve. #Bluebird #wildcard # 1,” his post concluded, referring to his album, “Wildcard,” featuring “Bluebird.”

According to Billboard, Lambert has had six # 1 songs on his chart, the last being “Over You” in 2012. His # 1 songs also include duets with Jason Aldean for “Drowns The Whiskey” from 2018 and Keith Urban for “We Were Us. “in 2013.

In 2018, Lambert opened up about her and Aldean’s summer hit that ranked No. 1 on the country’s radio charts.

“Yes, I had to sing to someone with a penis to get number one,” Lambert told The Washington Post at the time about the radio disparity in country music.

“I really like this person, Jason Aldean … so it was a great song with an old friend,” he continued, explaining, “It’s interesting that I haven’t had a Top 20 in a long, long time. And then go on to number 1 because he’s a guy. “

Lambert added: “But you know, if we were to see how many singles or records were sold for the 10 most popular songs right now, it would probably triple that in record sales. So it doesn’t matter.”

As for “Bluebird,” Lambert previously explained the inspiration behind the track and how he has a “definitive Miranda line.”

In the melody, she sings, “And if love keeps giving me lemons, I just mix them in my drink.”

“That was a definitive Miranda line because that’s what I do,” he told Entertainment Weekly last August. “You cannot stay at the moment that is not good for you.”
