Microsoft adds Chromebook support Minecraft: Edition of trainings, offering another way for schools to teach around this coming school year.
Specially designed for a classroom, Minecraft: Edition of trainings provides tools for educators such as virtual chalkboards and a Classroom mode that allows teachers to communicate with their students and see where they are the whole world of the game. Teachers can find user-created lessons on the Minecraft: Edition of trainings website covering topics including history and math. The lessons have players researching the map of the game, such as one that has students on a scavenger hunt to learn the elements of the periodic table, helping children learn by playing the game.
Minecraft: Edition of trainings on Chromebooks will offer the same features as other versions of the game, including cross-play support, allowing students to collaborate with players on Windows, iPads and Macs. On Chromebooks, students will love the Android app Minecraft: Edition of trainings which has now added Chrome OS support, so kids and teachers need to use newer devices that support installing apps from the Google Play Store. Minecraft: Edition of trainings originally came out in 2016.
Chromebooks have become the dominant computer platform in American schools, accounting for nearly 60 percent of computers purchased by K-12 schools in 2018. As the school year draws to a close, some school districts see virtual classrooms as an option due to the pandemic of coronavirus.
