Miley Cyrus mourns the death of her beloved grandmother Loretta Finley.

On Saturday (Aug. 22), the 27-year-old pop star shared an emotional tribute to her mother’s grandmother, whom she affectionately referred to as “Mommy,” on Instagram. Her post included a gallery of photos and videos from the past, including a clip of Finley on the red carpet and a snapshot of her cuddling with baby Miley.

“Even though you are gone …. NOTHING will or will change. You will forever be my inspiration and fashion icon,” Cyrus signed the post. “Even more than that to be the ultimate model of a truly Light in a dark world. You are sunshine. Every day I wake up and see that bright ball in the air I will see your face. Then say a prayer that the sky above thanks for giving me the best grandmother a girl could ever give. “

The singer “Midnight Sky” added, “I will miss you for the rest of my life …. I will keep your mind here by continuing to do good for others and treat them the way we all want to be treated “With an infinite amount of the same gentle kindness that you have shown daily. We will lose every day that you are not with us ….”

Cyrus also took to her Instagram Stories to update fans on why she was absent the past few days.

“To my fans: I know it feels like I’ve been gone these last few days …. but someone who means more to me than words can say, did the same,” she wrote next to a picture of her grandmother. “I’m completely heartbroken.”

In another post, Cyrus shared a home video of herself acoustically performing “Miss You So Much” for her grandmother, who was sitting nearby listening with a smile.

“This is a song I wrote in 2016 for my Mommy that was later released on Younger Now. I know she’s in her 40s love with my grandmother in heaven,” the singer wrote the clip.
