MIKE TYSON YOU ONLY RESERVED YOUR FIRST REFUND STRUGGLE – AND YOU ARE AGAINST ROY JONES JR. !!
The 54-year-old boxing legend has been training to return to the ring … and now, we’ve learned that his first opponent is one of the best fighters ever!
“Iron” Mike will face Roy Jones Jr. on September 12 in an 8-round exhibition called Frontline Battle, available on Pay-per-view and on the Triller social media platform.
We are told that the fight will take place in California, and will be sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission.
The event will include a billboard and live musical performances by top artists, and since Triller is backed by big stars like Snoop, little Wayne, Future, Weekend, Pit bull, Marshmello and more, the entertainment must be pretty solid!
FYI, Triller is a rapidly growing social media platform seeking to dominate the TikTok crowd, and while previously focused on music (including partnerships with major record labels) it is now making a foray into live events , including sports.
Tyson has been talking about a return for months and got some massive deals, so we’re assuming that Triller spent a few dollars to get the rights to his first comeback fight.
There’s more … we also learned that Triller locked up the rights to a 10-part docuserie with Mike and Roy preparing for their fight … with 2 episodes falling every week until fight night, airing on the platform.
As for the fighters, RJJ is 51 years old and had titles in 4 different weight classes … middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.
Roy most recently fought in February 2018, but has been constantly training and feels he can compete with Tyson.
Of course, Tyson hasn’t had a professional fight since June 2005 … and he struggled with substance abuse and weight problems after walking away.
But now, Tyson says he has prioritized health and fitness again, and that he wants to return to the ring to help raise money for charity.
Waiting for your permission to upload the Instagram media.
Tyson had previously told us his sights were set in Evander Holyfield in a comeback fight … and they tell us it’s still a possibility in the future, but first there’s Roy.
RJJ has had 75 professional fights, with an unrealistic record of 66-9. He has wins over guys like Antonio Tarver, Felix Trinidad, James Toney, Bernard Hopkins and Vinny Paz.
