Microsoft’s new Xbox app lets you stream Xbox One games to your iPhone or iPad

The Xbox One app update of Micro OS OS for iOS and iPad iOS is now live, allowing Xbox One owners to stream games to their devices. A new Xbox app is available in the App Store, including a remote play feature, which allows Xbox One console owners to stream their games to an iPhone or iPad.

Remote Play is different from MicroSft’s Xcloud service, which streams games directly from servers instead of your own Xbox One console. This Xbox Remote Play feature will only connect to your own Xbox console, not to Xcloud. It’s similar to Sony’s own PS4 Remote Play feature that is also available on Android and iOS.

The app also supports the ability to access the Xbox console over Wi-Fi, or an LTE or 5G connection. The Xbox app lets you take control of your home Xbox, and you can even launch your console remotely outside of your home. The Xbox will start without sound or without the front Xbox Lite, and when you disconnect, it goes back to standby after a short period of inactivity.

The new Xbox app recently arrived on Android, and this updated iPhone version includes similar new designs and features. It also appreciates the new Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, so players can quickly download or share game clips and screenshots. You can manage console space and delete games from the application.

This new Xbox app is even faster than previous iOS versions, and its design usually matches the new dashboard and UI in the Xbox. The new design is set to launch the Xbox Series X / S console on November 10 by MicroSt.

Microsoft’s updated Xbox app, unfortunately, does not change the xCloud situation. Apple Play recently extended the Olive branch to allow services like Stadia and Xcloud, but that includes a big catch, which means Microsoft will have to submit hundreds of games individually as separate applications using its streaming technology. Microsoft was not happy with Apple’s new rules.
