Microsoft .ft Mesh Feels Like the Virtual Future of Microsoft Teams Meetings

Last week, Alex Kippman of Micros.ft, the inventor of Kiniket and HoloLens, was in my room to hand over my jellyfish and sharks. It may seem like a strange dream to me, but it is a meeting that is made possible by the new mesh platform of micro .ft. I donned a HoloLens 2 headset, joined a virtual meeting room, and Kippman immediately appeared next to my coffee table, ready to display a vision of the future of VRs and ARs.

It all felt like a future micro .ft teams meeting.

Mash is a collaborative platform that allows anyone to share virtual experiences on a variety of devices. “This is a dream for mixed reality from the beginning,” explains Kippman. Be present with people even when you are not physically present. “

Initially, Mesh will introduce people as a virtual avatar taken from the AltspaceVR social network that Microsoft acquired back in 2017. Mash will eventually support what Microsoft .ft calls “holoportation,” which will allow people to see themselves in virtual space.

You can freely interact with virtual objects objects in the micro .ft mesh.

During my one-hour meeting at the micro .ft mesh, I constantly felt that this could be a very futuristic version of the microsft teams. Kipman appeared next to me as an avatar and started giving me virtual jellyfish and sharks. I can reshape the animals, give them back or just put them in front of me. Although we weren’t working on some elegant design or 3D model Dell, it felt more immersive than the zoom video calls I attended on a near daily basis.

Keeping Kippman in the room with me was the next best thing and reminded me of my first experience with HoloLens. Microsoft originally demonstrated hololens using the collaborative Skype call line where a technician can guide you on how to fix some wiring. It felt like the promise of an aged reality, and the micro .ft mesh seemed like a natural next step.

Kipman says, “You can imagine a whole bunch of mesh-capable macros .ft teams, where the main thing is, think of collaborators around the world as if you and I were in the same physical position. “Mesh essentially allows teams to have mixed reality encounters with everyone in the same room and so you should think about it in the mesh-capable teams-type of atmosphere.”

MicroSFT is demonstrating the mesh on Ignite this week.

The mesh is not just an application for holding virtual meetings, though; It’s an entire platform built on top of the Azure that MicroSFT hopes developers will get into. Micro .ft architects, engineers and designers will all hope to see the promise of mesh, especially during epidemics, when it is difficult to work with 3D physical models when not all are in the same room.

MicroSt will also make Mesh available on a variety of devices, including HoloLens 2, most virtual reality headsets, tablets, smartphones and PCs. A preview of the micro .ft mesh application for HoloLens 2 will be available today along with a preview version of the mesh enabled AltspaceVR. Micro .ft plans to integrate Mesh into Teams and Dynamics 365 in the future, which could help bring a truly unique meeting experience to more people.

Micro .ft certainly thinks the mesh will be the next big thing for mixed reality. CEO Satya Nadella compared the new platform to Xbox Live during his keynote address at Ignite today. “Think about what Xbox Box X has done for live gaming – we went from single player to multiplayer, creating communities that help people connect and get together,” Nadella said. “Now imagine if the same thing happened with mixed reality.”

The big thing behind the micro .ft mesh is the price of holoLens devices and VR headsets. While you can jump from a 2D screen like a phone or PC, it’s not as immersive as using a headset. Microsoft has tried to bridge this gap with ambitious projects like in the past Minecraft Earth, Provides AR experiences on mobile phones. That particular project didn’t work, and it’s not clear if MicroSD Microsoft Ft Mash will strike a chord with users either.

Micro .ft Mesh will need some strong developer support or provide experiences that will give you VR to get the momentum going. Can’t be found anywhere else in Microsoft has hired filmmaker James Cameron, Pokemon Go Developer Niantic, and co-founder of Sirc du Solil, to demonstrate Mesh’s promise during its Ignite main part today.

Proof-of-concept version of Pokemon Go Running on HoloLens 2 and the virtual concert definitely shows what is possible now with micro .ft mesh. The reality now is based on the popularity of headsets or the ability to market this new technology to businesses looking to embrace hybrid ways of working in a world that is recovering from an epidemic.
