UFC welterweight Mickey Gall has released a statement on Instagram after his loss to Mike Perry in the UFC on ESPN 12.
It was a bad night at the office for Gall, as Perry outplayed him in a rather unilateral unanimous decision victory. The loss brought Gall down to a professional MMA record of 6-3, with this serving as his second loss in his last three fights.
Gall, who was using his wounds from the fight, jumped on Instagram to address his fans and critics after he raised Perry’s hand.
“I lost a decision,” Gall wrote in the caption for his post. “Fight fun for me. Much love to all. I appreciate you guys. There are no excuses. I know who I am, I keep my head up. I will return to the octagon sooner and better than ever. You will grow from this small loss. Nowhere in the world would I have preferred to be tonight. Believe. See you soon. I am still full of love and gratitude. Thank you for love always (* when @ufc returns from the fighting island to America) “.
In the post itself, Gall noted that he felt he occasionally got the best of “Platinum” on stand-up, only because of his struggle, ironically, to disappoint him. However, at the age of just 28, it still seems like the man who toppled CM Punk still has a lot to give in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
While Gall highlighted August as a possible return date for him in what would be a fairly quick turnaround, the aforementioned Perry is focusing on a much bigger goal.
“I want to go to South Florida and work with Yoel Romero and feel that 185-pound weight class. Man, 170 pounds is a great place for me, but I want to fight Darren Till. I want to fight that guy, ”said Perry after the fight.
“I mean, if I see him in person, I’m going to fight him. No one is going to stop me. I’m going to grab him, I’m going to put my finger in his eye and I’m going to grab him. I’ll say it out loud because I don’t care. “
Till is set to return to the Octagon on July 25 as he prepares to face Robert Whittaker in a great middleweight showdown.
