Metal Slug: Code J is a Metal Slug 3D game for mobile devices

SNK Playmore and Tencent Games have presented Metal Slug: Code J, a completely new Metal Slug game aimed at mobile platforms, with a new trailer (Thanks, Nibel!):

As previously known, the game is being developed by Timi Studio. The trailer showcases the Metal Slug tank, the main cast of Marco, Tarma, Eri, and Fio, and most importantly, what looks like a full 3D art style. the Metal Slug games are known for their high-quality 2D pixel art, but Metal Slug: Code J he seems to be taking a different visual tactic, taking a shot of the original art style. However, the game is still a 2D side scrolling, and the trailer also features a number of classic visuals from the series, as well as apparent re-creations of boss fights and scenarios. If anything, the most noticeable difference between the new game and the old one is the remarkable presence of touchscreen interface buttons.

There’s also what appears to be a central world, showing characters visiting NPCs and going to a store. No details were given on the structure of the game, nor on the monetization options it might have, beyond the hints in previous revelations that it could add “card type” mechanisms. Not even a release date was available, with everything listed as “TBD” at the moment.

Metal Slug: Code J It is in development for iOS and Android, and will be launched in 2020. Other Metallic Slug The title is also in development for consoles.
