Meghan McCain does not have the easiest job in the world. She is the co-host of a show where the other hosts are largely liberal. The show’s audience is also liberal, and McCain frequently takes the brunt of her vitriol.
But she is very unpopular for a reason. And that reason was exhibited today when she went after the renowned immunologist Dr. Anthony Fauci, against whom the White House is carrying out a smear campaign. McCain took the administration’s talking points very seriously and said that she had “turned on” Fauci.
The conservative expert told the audience, “I think the point of the cult of personality around Dr. Fauci now is that he gets all the glory when things are going well, and he has no responsibility when things are not going well.” .

McCain continued: “We are not winning this battle like many other countries do, and is it simply President Trump’s fault? And everything good is given to Dr. Fauci and everything bad is given to President Trump? It is a narrative that may work with some circles, but it is not flying with I think many people in other parts of the country. “
McCain ended his tirade:
“I’ve made it more than I think women have in the rest of the show because, once again, I think there has to be some responsibility for why we are still in the position we are in now. I don’t think he’s a bad man, he’s certainly credited with helping us get through the AIDS crisis, but I don’t think of him the same as the rest of the show. “
