Meghan Markle’s Wikipedia was altered just before Prince Harry revealed

Meghan Markle’s Wikipedia page was drastically altered just before her relationship with Prince Harry was made public, abandoning her modeling work to promote her as an “activist” and “humanitarian”.

The changelogs on the site show a lot of activity in late October 9, 2016, when the “Suits” actress was already dating Harry and just a few weeks before her hidden love hit the headlines late in that month.

The first change erased the detailed mention of how she was “the model who ranked Case # 24 on the US version of the television show” Deal or No Deal, “Wikipedia’s change records show.

Only 10 minutes later, her entry changed from describing her as an actress who was also a “fashion model, spokesperson” to one who was “Activist, Humanitarian,” the changes show.

“Markle is actively involved in the socio-political arena,” read the new entry. “She also worked with The United Nations Women, where, as an advocate, she presented at the UN headquarters for the HeforShe gender equality campaign in September 2014,” she said now.

“Meghan has also been a panelist on One Young World’s esteemed roster of speakers (Dublin, 2014), and has traveled to Afghanistan with the Joint Chief of Staff on a USO tour in December 2014.”

The entry was also modified to take into account that she was the “founder of The TIG”, her lifestyle blog at the time, and someone else added a link to the site two days later.

Changes were made anonymously from an IP address only linked on the site to Markle editions.

The IP address is linked to a Los Angeles public relations firm with no known ties to the duchess, according to The Telegraph, which speculated that the changes may have been made by friends who knew their real romance was about to be made public.

Markle’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
