Meghan Markle blamed the UK’s “intrusive” tabloid media for ruining her relationship with Father Thomas Markle, her lawyers said.
The Duchess of Sussex “had a very close father / daughter relationship throughout her childhood and remained close until she was attacked three years ago by tabloid UK media intruders,” according to new legal documents filed by Markle’s lawyers as part of his ongoing lawsuit against the Post on Sunday.
The 38-year-old woman sued the British newspaper earlier this year over the publication of a handwritten letter she sent to her father in 2019.
According to court documents seen by the BBC, the publicity of the private letter caused Markle to suffer “tremendous emotional distress and damage to his mental health.”
The statement also revealed that Markle had a “long history of caring for her.” [his] health “and that she began making” voluntary financial contributions to her father “in 2014 while still acting on the television series” Suits, “The Guardian reported.
The Duchess of Sussex stopped sending money to her father in May 2018, the same month she also married Prince Harry, after her relationship with him broke up.
Markle, who has not spoken to her father since, says she also received “significant payments” for providing quotes to the newspapers.
It is rare for the royal family to take legal action against the media. The Duchess is suing for privacy violation and copyright infringement. The Mail on Sunday won the first round of the lawsuit on May 1, the BBC reported.
The couple is funding the case privately, and any damages won will be donated to a charity against bullying, Insider reported.

How to pop a bean yourself, according to the advice of Dr. Pimple Popper
Insider producer Celia Skvaril’s video chatted with Dr. Sanda Lee, also known as Dr. Pimple Popper, to get her professional advice on how to pop a bean at home. While Lee does not recommend that people exploit their own pimples, pimples are a habit that many have a hard time quitting. Since much of the world stays at home, people don’t see their dermatologists and beauticians regularly and may be struggling with a higher-than-normal need to touch their skin. Lee offered advice on how to minimize the risk of scarring and further infection by popping your own pimples, such as trying to pop only shallow pimples and properly sterilize the pimple and tools before and after popping. Following Lee’s advice, Celia tried to burst her own white head at home. For more information on Dr. Pimple Popper, visit: https://slmdskincare.com/ https://www.instagram.com/drpimplepopper/
