She repeated: ‘First I heard from the Harry & Meghan team. They contacted me to thank supporters for the @Camfed birthday fundraiser. It was so thoughtful. Their representative was lovely.

‘I was excited we had it on their radar. That was enough for me. Then … Meghan cried yesterday! She said her team heard about the fundraiser and flagged it for her.

‘She and Harry were very touched. She asked me a big ‘Thank you’ by giving to everyone, ‘said the social media user.

‘I told her they had a lot of support. She thanks me. She said she felt it. I was envious of the opportunity to tell her that her humanitarian work informed and inspired our fundraisers.

‘She asked how much we raised, and I told her close to $ 80k (last update). She said that was great. She was so gracious and humble.

‘Men, she was lovely, friendly, super-loving. We talked for about seven to eight minutes. However, it seemed much shorter. There was so much more I wanted to say, but this was not that kind of conversation.

‘She was busy, the kind of person you talk to for hours and hours escapes you. But the purpose of her call, and she said this a few times, was to give YOU gratitude for supporting her, for the lenders, and for your birthday wishes.

‘So, this is me delivering the message, as promised. From Meghan, to all the supporters, donors, benefactors, ‘Thank you.’ ‘

The call comes after the Luminary Bakery – which has long been backed by Meghan – launched a bakery along with CAMFED and raffle to mark the royal’s birthday.

Meghan made several visits to the organization while living in the UK, and promoted her work in her September issue of Vogue last year.

Luminary Bakery posted a photo of the Duchess on Instagram, writing that she is collaborating with CAMFED to mark the Duchess’ birthday.

The baker said: ‘To celebrate, one of our London-based Luminary Grads, Monica, will be attending Tisiyenji, Zambia to bake cakes “together” from around the world to celebrate the Duchess of Sussex’s birthday honor & ALL women to celebrate with through their beautiful bowls. ‘

The cake baked by Monica is now on fire, with the organization asking royal fans for donations of £ 10 to sign up.

She explained: ‘Today we are working with @Camfed to celebrate #WomenEmpoweringWomen and say a happy birthday to Meghan, who has championed the work of both our organizations!’

The two presented charities are all close to the Duchess’s heart, and she has made her support clear by visiting her during her time as a working royal.
