Meghan Markle cleverly called Queen Elizabeth and she is not wrong

When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex began to appear as a couple, it was obvious that they were deeply in love. Prince Harry seemed very protective of Meghan, even in the early stages of their relationship, and it was wonderful to see them both so happy.

After the royal wedding, however, things seemed to be going downhill for them. Meghan found herself constantly being chased by British tabloids, and, more than once, Prince Harry felt it necessary to issue statements in his defense.

Fans expected Meghan and Prince Harry to move in alongside Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace, and shocked everyone by heading miles away to Windsor, supposedly to get out of the limelight. The couple was still being targeted by newspapers and photographers, and before long, they announced that they were giving up their royal duties and that “Megxit” was officially underway.

There is no doubt that the Duchess was experiencing a level of fame that she never expected. Meghan recently revealed that she felt “unprotected” by the monarchy, but things may not be what they seem.

Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan was a successful actress, having gotten her big break in the legal drama. Suits. She was famous in her own right, yet the attention she received was nothing like what happened after joining the royal family.

While living in Toronto, Meghan could still go out without having to fear for her safety. The media did not report false stories about the actress, and she was living a relatively peaceful life.

According to Mirror, after her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan was dealing with online trolling, and her fame rose to levels she could never have imagined. There is no doubt that it was overwhelming for her, especially since it was something she could never have prepared for.

Being a member of the royal family sounds like a dream come true, but to Meghan, it was just the opposite. Insider reports that Meghan and Prince Harry simply did not enjoy being part of the world’s most famous family, and were more than tired of the unforgiving photographers and media they regularly had to deal with.

More than anything, the couple wanted privacy, and it was almost as if they felt they would never get that while living in the UK. In early 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry made the surprising announcement that they were leaving the royal family, and they spent time in Vancouver before finally heading to Los Angeles, where they currently are.

Meghan Markle felt ‘unprotected’ by the monarchy

So why did Meghan feel “unprotected”? Well, she was dealing with all kinds of bullying.

The content of a personal letter to her father was leaked to the media, and Meghan felt her privacy was violated. Meghan even said in an interview that real life was not “fair” and that she felt harassed and was not doing anything right.

Calling the monarchy, Meghan calls her leader: Queen Elizabeth. It could be argued that she is also calling the heirs to the throne of Queen Elizabeth: Prince Charles and Prince William.

It’s a bold move on Meghan’s part, but fans of the royal family are on her side. They see the disconnect between how the monarchy responded to the Prince Andrew scandal, reports of Kate’s “botox baby” and even, more recently, a story by Tatler about Kate’s stress.

It can be argued that Kate is the future queen consort, therefore the palace prioritizes the reports around her. But that still doesn’t explain the support for Prince Andrew. The disconnect has royal family fans who support Meghan’s sentiments.
