Meghan Markle called ‘fame hungry’ by friend who ‘dumped when Harry proposed’

Meghan Markle is accused of ‘hunger’ for power and fame ‘by Lizzie Cundy, who says the actress fell like a stone when she grabbed Prince Harry.

Former WAG Lizzie says she was friends with Meghan at a charity gala in 2013 when the Duchess was the star of the TV drama Suits.

Lizzie says she and Meghan put it off and she tried to find her a British friend – but after Meghan got on with Harry, she never heard from her again.

“I’m dumped, babies,” Lizzie told New Magazine.

The couple announced their engagement in November 2017

Lizzie, 52, says she texted Meghan, 39, after announcing her engagement to Prince Harry to say how ‘awesome’ it was – but no response came.

After the snub, Lizzie says she felt ‘sad’, but not surprised when she heard Harry and Meghan leave the royal family and move to Los Angeles.

“I feel like Harry did not shine the same after she met her and I was very sad that she felt she had to live in LA – I think this is what she wanted power and fame for,” she said.

Like a friendship with Meghan, Lizzie said she had also met Harry on several occasions with the couple staying in hotel rooms next to each other at the World Cup in South Africa.

“He had a fun party downstairs with Prince William and David Beckham. I walked by and thought, ‘That’s a nice little cocktail party – what’s up?’

A number of allegations about Harry and Meghan will be sent out in explosive new book Finding Freedom, which focuses on their historic move away from the Royal Family.

The book by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand chronicles the beginning of the romance of Harry and Meghan after their decision to move to Los Angeles.

In the latest summary released from the book, it is alleged that Meghan was told by former Kensington Palace assistants not to wear a necklace with her and Prince Harry’s initials, as it would ‘encourage new headlines’.

The book states: “Two days after Meghan was photographed buying flowers at her regular florist, with her new initial necklace, she received a phone call from a former aide of Kensington Palace.

“She was advised that wearing such a necklace would only serve to encourage photographers to follow such images – and new headlines.”

Meghan is said to have been left ‘frustrated and emotional’ by the advice.
