“I did not tell the police anything because I did not want us to get into any more trouble,” she says in the video.
Peterson was arrested the morning of the incident on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon and was later released on bail the same day, but is not charged with anything related to the incident. Police and prosecutors say the case remains under investigation.
Pete, Peterson and others share an SUV after the party in the early hours of July 12th. She said in the video that there was an argument between the people in the car, and Peterson shot her as she tried to run away. She denied rumors that she had hit him in the SUV.
Pete first said publicly that she was shot later that week, and has gradually become more public in various posts on social media since it happened, mostly in response to what she said were false stories.
She said from the beginning that she expected to recover completely, but said in subsequent posts that the shooting, which required her to have surgery to remove the bullets, was “super scary” was the worst experience of my life , “and she felt blessed to hit the gun where it did.
She consistently refused to call Peterson until Thursday night, when she did tweeted, “Lie down one more time and stop saving.”
