Mega Millions ticket that reached the $ 124M jackpot was purchased at the NJ convenience store

The $ 124 million jackpot-winning lottery ticket for Friday’s Mega Millions draw was purchased at a convenience store in Hudson County, lottery officials said.

The lucky winner made the purchase at The Corner Store II, News N Things in the 100 block of Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne, New Jersey Lottery officials said Saturday.

Friday’s winning numbers were: 8, 33, 39, 54 and 58. The drawn Mega Ball was 17 with a Megaplier of 3X.

If the winner chooses the cash option, the prize is $ 100.8 million before state and federal taxes are deducted.

Two $ 1 million second prize tickets were also sold, one in Illinois and Texas. Both matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.

The great New Jersey winner must sign the back of the ticket, make a copy of both sides, keep it in a safe place, and call the lottery headquarters at 609-599-5875 to arrange to file a claim.

Lottery officials will hold a press conference Monday at the store to present the retailer with a $ 30,000 bonus check for selling the winning ticket.

The jackpot for Tuesday’s drawing resets at an estimated $ 20 million with a cash option of $ 16.2 million.

Mega Millions tickets are $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased by 10:45 pm on the night of the draw. Odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of winning the second prize of at least $ 1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the United States Virgin Islands.
