Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskey announces death of 25-year-old son: ‘Tommy was pure magic’


Rip. Jamie Raskin, D-Mo., Announced Thursday that his 25-year-old son, Tommy Raskin, has died.

“Tommy was pure magic. His brilliance and compassion knew no bounds. He loved his family, friends and animals enthusiastically and was dedicated to the world’s poor,” Raskin and his wife Sarah Bloom told Rasky in a statement. . “We’re devastated and broken to live without it.”

Tommy Ruskin was in his second year at Harvard Law School after graduating from Amherst College Mass., Amsterdam, Mass., The family did not disclose the cause of his death.

The congressional office said the family was “grateful for the support and love of neighbors, voters and friends” and asked everyone to “observe strict COVID-19 protocols in times of grief.”

Ruskin mourned for the family.

“My heart goes out to my dear friend Rap. Raskin, Sarah and their family in their devastating loss is completely shattered,” Rap. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DNY wrote. Twitter. “Tommy was an incredible and bright beam of light. All our thoughts are with the Raskin family, and we pray for support to accommodate them in this incredible time.”

Maryland Govt. Larry Hogg wrote, “The First Lady and I express our deepest sympathies for this heartbreaking loss.” Twitter. “I tell all the people of Maryland to keep the Raskin family in your prayers.”

Ruskin has represented Maryland’s 8th district since 2017.
